Gloucershire, a free-to-play mobile game, recently updated to make the free ads optional.
The update adds a new “free ads” option for games with high traffic, such as Glouchershire.
Free Ads are used to fund the developers and developers themselves, as well as to help cover the costs of servers and advertising.
When Glounershire updated, the company stated that it would be removing free ads as a result of this update.
In an email to GamesBeat, Gloutershire explained that its free ads are “a service we offer to you for free” but they will be “removed as of today.”
Glouiershire’s decision comes after complaints about free ads on some games.
When the Free Ad option was first added to Glouidshire in January, a user named Mandy said that the company was “unfair” and “disgraceful” for removing free adverts from her games.
After receiving multiple complaints about the change, the Free Ads option was removed from Glouys games.
Glouies website has also removed the free-ad option from the game’s main menu.
